I'm so grateful for...

the luxury of light bulbs and light. Perhaps it sounds silly and over used. but it is true. the other weekend my family had the privilege to visit Habitat for Humanity Global Village. It was such an eye-opener to all that I have without a second thought while these people barely have hope for a better life. Worldwide, some 827.6 million people live in urban slums. my family with everything we are privileged to have and own are in the 10% wealthiest of the world. it is hard to wrap my mind around that. It doesn't always seem that way. I am not grateful enough.

luxury;
: a condition or situation of great comfort, ease, and wealth
: something that is expensive and not necessary
: something that is helpful or welcome and that is not usually or always available

Often the families who live in the slums will hang a light bulb in their shack or have a phone or a t.v. sitting in the place they call home. They have it there as a reminder, as a sign of hope.
