HIS Ranch

As most of ya'll know, during the last two weeks in June my friend Nikki and I went on a bit of a trip. The four main highlights of the trip were visiting Ty at HIS Ranch, the pleasure of seeing family, going to a girls camp, and last but not least being with Nikki. This post is full of pictures from the week we spent at HIS Ranch with Ty. Hopefully in the next couple days I will be able to post the pictures from the other highlights and stops during our journey.
Being with and Seeing Ty for a whole week was absolutely the best part of the trip!
I miss you Ty!

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are they works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

~Psalms 139:14

Nikki and I just happened to be going to the ranch the same week that another work group was going so there was a BUNCH of helping hands that week. It was so exciting to see all the things that were accomplished that week. The above picture was one morning during devotions.

Shannon with one of the horses. Shannon and his wife Susan are the ones that God inspired to start the ranch. Their story is such a beautiful testimony to all that our Heavenly Father can do.

This was during a transitions group.
HIS Ranch uses horses for therapy for those that are handicapped and disabled. They usually have someone sitting behind the saddle holding onto the rider, someone leading the horse, and two people one on both sides.

This little lady was such a sweetie!
She loved taking pictures with Nikki and I's cameras. Such a joy!

The stalls. Clean stalls is one of the first projects of the week.

These two pictures are from transitions as well.

This was the painting crew painting the fence. Another blessing.

In front of the welcome center is a fountain that we landscaped around during that week.

The work crew, one night, had a game night. They were all Minute 2 Win It Games and everyone was on a team. It made for a lot of laughs and stretching moments.

Nikki and I dedicated ourselves the photographers of the evening and thankfully escaped from having to play the games. We had both played them only a few days ago at the girls camp and that was enough for us.

They were pretty intense games! :-)

The children had a lot of fun swimming in the fountain that week and this poor duck was dragged into as well. It looked quite helpless with their loving play.

A hay ride minus the hay.

This is our finished landscaping work. It really was amazing how much that work crew accomplished in that one week. Just goes to prove that many hands make light work.

Here is K and I working on the photo slide show. Nikki took the picture otherwise she would be in it too. It took us six hours working on that slide show until it was finished. There was even another volunteer that helped us that day but none of us had worked much with a Mac before. Definitely a new experience for me.

Not only was the fence painted but they also painted the bottom of this barn.

I couldn't resist putting this on the blog. :-) Miss ya A.

And yet another project of the week. The men worked very diligently on this one and it turned out beautiful.

On the last evening the work group held a Talent Show in the barn. It was an absolutely hilarious evening. Everyone did such a great job with the songs and skits. I only wish I had a video recording of some of them.

These two are cousins and their singing was so melodious. They really sounded good.

This was the 'adult' skit. It was HILARIOUS! It would be extremely hard to tell it on the computer so if you want to know just ask me some time. Everyone was rolling over laughing.

This one was the ten reasons why you should wear overalls. It was really funny but they didn't quite convince me that they were the things to wear. :-)

This is most all the girls from the week.

That pretty much wraps it up. Oh, besides on Nikki and I's very last day. The work group had left the night before so it was just the volunteers and us. You would probably never guess what we did so I will tell you. We baled straw! (actually it might have been hay. I don't remember.) A new experience for both of us and I will be honest and say that if someone ever needed help baling straw I wouldn't mind helping. Shocking right? :-) Sadly I don't have pictures of that. I didn't want to bring my parents camera out to the field.

I know this post does not do the week justice. I wish it was possible to write how wonderful the whole trip was. There was so many new experiences for both Nikki and I. We grew in our walk with the Lord as well as in our friendship. I pray I will never forget the things God taught me that week.

God's richest blessings to each of you.

Kay
