Hello! Just to let you know, no, we have not dropped of the face of the earth. I am actually suprised that I have neglected blogging for so long. Yes, a lot has happened since I have last posted but I won't bore you with catching up and will simply start right where we are in life. Which of course would be Christmas. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have been so blessed to have our grandma "shoe" down for the whole month of December! One whole month straight! :) She came down right after Thanksgiving with my Great Aunt and Uncle who stayed for about a week helping with pecans. On Wednesday we were doubly blessed when my mom's aunt and uncle arrived. We love having company. (hint hint).
One of my favorite times during the Christmas season is in the evenings when all the lights are plugged in, candles are flickering, and there is soft, Christmas music playing in the background.! Sigh. Simply Delightful!
Every year shortly after Thanksgiving we bring out all of our Christmas decorations. Most of the time we have something new to put up and we decorate differently every year. But there is one thing that always stays the same and that is our nativity scene. Sure, sometimes it is in a different place but we always get it out.
The reason for the Christmas season is the same every year as well. It never changes. We are the ones that change or perhaps we are the ones that try and change the reason for the season. We probably don't want to face the true meaning, don't want to be proven wrong. But no matter what we try to do or say we won't be changing the truth. Nothing will change the true reason for the season. It is only because of Jesus Christ that we have this season in life. So tomorrow when you go to open your presents don't forget you are celebrating Christ's birth not opening presents that "santa brought."
Gingerbread Houses
Actually we didn't build houses we built stables. We did this in honor of Joy whose birthday was a few days before. These Gingerbread stables were made with friends who live a few hours north of us who came down for a weekend.
In short it was a blast. :)
This one was made by Nikki and I.
Livy and Joy with theirs.
Rosy and Thomas with their stable.
Last but not least here is Tommy and Gracie's Gingerbread Stable.
And of course one cannot have a stable without a horse. :)
Everyone slaving away on their stables.
Tommy and Gracie were so cute. Shortly after we started one of Tommy's sisters asked him why he wouldn't let Gracie do anything and he said he was trying to find something easy for her to do. :) They are the same age for those who don't know.
And just because it is Winter/Christmas time I am going to throw in a few pictures of snow. I know most of ya'll have already seen enough of it already this year but living in the sunny south we don't get a lot of it. I snapped these pictures last January when we were up north.
I love Red Barns!
Merry Christmas Ya'll!
Kay
