He Arose!

The Thursday before Good Friday our company arrived which consisted of both Grandmothers, Lynn, and little Elizabeth.

On Good Friday evening we went to an Easter walk-about. It is kinda a tradition in our family. We have gone to the same one ever since we knew about it. Probably what draws us to it again and again every year is the last scene when Jesus comes out of the tomb. He walks to every one in the crowd shakes their hand and says, "I did it for you." It is so touching and hits your heart so indescribably. Yes, I know this person isn't Jesus but it is still very touching.
Saturday evening we went to a passover meal. A church in our area was trying to recapture what the last supper was like with Jesus and His disciples. They did a really good job. It was interesting to see all the customs they had back then. For example: they didn't use eating utensils, we ate with our hands!
Sunday we went to a Sunrise Service. It started at 7:00 a.m. in an opened field. There was a service and then they opened it up and anyone who wanted to share was aloud to go up and share. While all of that was going on the sun was rising. It was so beautiful. All the fog and the dew and then the sunrising. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Saturday afternoon we made little tombs out of cookie dough. Another little tradition. We placed them on the piano with the stones placed in front of the tomb. On Sunday they rolled the stones away! He Arose!
A couple days ago I was listening to a song that really stood out to me. I thought I would share the words to the song.

How Great The Father's Love

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

I hope this blessed you as well.

Kay
